Tim McClain, Communications Director for Fourth District Supervisor Ron Roberts, joined the staff in August 2009. A district resident since 1991, he is the former editor of San Diego Metropolitan magazine and North Park News and has worked in and with local media since 1982.

A familiar voice for 11 years on KPBS’ Editors Roundtable, Tim served as managing editor of the San Diego Daily Transcript in the early 1990s after originally joining the newspaper as its City Hall reporter. Other local publications where Tim has worked as a reporter or editor include San Diego Executive Magazine, The Chula Vista Star-News and the Coronado Journal.

Along with serving the media as its connection to Supervisor Roberts, Tim will represent the office at various meetings of mid-city community groups and business organizations.

He and his family live in City Heights.
